Leaders of both factions of NCP raises fresh questions on air crash

Ajit Pawar-led NCP MLA Amol Mitkari and senior Sharad Pawar-led NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad raised questions on Monday over the January 28 air crash that killed the late Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.

“Was VSR Ventures pilot Sumit Kapoor, who flew Ajit Pawar a suicide bomber? Was Ajit Pawar killed the way the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) killed former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi? If pilot Sumit Kapoor’s wife said her husband is alive, was it really Kapoor who died in the air crash,” Ajit Pawar-led NCP MLA Amol Mitkari asked at a Shiv Jayanti event organised by the Muralidhar Raut Mitra Mandal at Paras Phata in the Balapur taluka of the Akola district on Monday.

“How is Maharashtra so calm and quiet when there are big mysteries about Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s air crash, when Ajit Pawar was a man who followed the ideals of Shivaji Maharaj? Under what circumstances did pilots Captain Sahil Madan and Captain Yash, who were originally supposed to fly Ajit Pawar get stuck ‘s plane, get stuck in traffic? Where is the CCTV footage? Where are both these pilots at present? Why has the data of the black box and CCTV footage not been released,” Ajit Pawar-led NCP MLA Amol Mitkari asked.

“The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), which functions under the union civil aviation ministry, has not given satisfactory answers about the air crash. Is the DGCA hiding something? How can the black box burn? If the DGCA’s conduct gives room for doubt, then suspicions will surely arise. The aircraft operated by VSR Ventures which flew Ajit Pawar, did not have permission to fly in India. How did the aircraft fly for 8000 hours instead of 5000 hours? Sharad Pawar-led NCP leader Jitendra Awhad asked.

Stating that the late Ajit Pawar’s nephew and Sharad Pawar-led NCP MLA Rohit Pawar has done a lot of research on the January 28 air crash which killed the late Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar-led NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad said that, “The longer the investigation gets delayed, the more suspicions will grow”.

“There are questions about who owns the VSR Ventures company. What kind of money is used to run the company and under whose pressure DGCA officials work. All these questions need to be thoroughly investigated and answered. Black boxes of aircraft are made of titanium and designed not to burn even at high temperatures,” Sharad Pawar-led NCP Jitendra Awhad said.
